Severe weather never stops, even when its not severe weather season. The end of the first wave brings us some relief, but there are reports that the next organized storm risk is Thursday, March 19. It is very early, so models could be wrong, but what if Thursday is the day?
BT Weather: Severe Weather Coverage will come back whenever there is a severe weather risk in which a SISR of more than 2/5 has been issued. That means any time wind gusts of more than 50MPH or a potential for tornadoes has been registered, BT Weather will be activated in full to cover it, even when you don't actually see it happening. I am always watching for new models, and as soon as I believe that a stream will be needed with more than 50% certainty, I will start talking about scheduling a Severe Weather Coverage stream. It must be done this way because BT Weather is 1 person, Alex Layne, and I cannot cover every instance of storms, but when they threaten communities, I will be working my hardest to update those in the way of the storm.
The nearest date that organized severe weather could come back as a recurring daily issue is Thursday, March 19, though things can change. I will post updates if things change, or when I have confirmed the coverage date(s). Thank you for coming along with me while trying to roll out this major project!
