Concerning Day 3 Enhanced Risk Issued for Tuesday, Sparking Concerns of Extreme Severe Weather Outbreak

"While I try to do my best to mitigate fearmongering in situations like weather coverage, this setup is unlike anything I've seen in the month of March. I'm genuinely concerned, and people should have a plan for the event of the worst-case scenario."
    Alex Layne

The skies over northern Illinois are churning. Tuesday, a major warm front will be moving into the area, bringing temperatures of up to 80°F and dew points above 70°F. This setup is textbook severe weather outbreak conditions. These conditions in the month of March are extremely rare. The concerns for long track tornadoes in the area are mounting, and the people in any of the outlook areas should be preparing for a wild week of weather, especially on Tuesday. The models, while bullish, show some very concerning things, and I think if the bias of the models were less skewed and showed even 15% less potential, I would still be highly concerned about this outbreak. Don't be scared, be prepared!

On Wednesday, a 15% Risk area has been issued, and encompasses southern Indiana, Ohio, Pittsburgh, PA, West Virginia, Kentucky, Missouri, Illinois, Tennessee, Arkansas, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Alabama. A smaller tornado threat, it will still pack a major punch coming into the region on the 11th of March. The threat seems to extend into the early morning hours on Thursday. Wind shear and a surging cold front will be a concern for Wednesday. Solar energy atmosphere feeding will play a major role in where the worst effects will happen.

A hot early Spring is always a sign of bad news, severe weather wise. However, as long as you are prepared, you can mitigate the worst effects.

We will be live from the outbreak zone in Bloomington, Indiana on Tuesday AND Wednesday for severe weather coverage on BreakyTime.
